Corona Update Zrce
Helpful background, tips and explanations in detail.
Hello dear party friends,
We hope you, your family, and your friends are doing well and are healthy.
We have compiled some important information regarding the current state of the Corona situation at Zrce Beach in Croatia below.
Update April 2022 :
In Europe, more and more travel restrictions are being lifted. Entering Croatia is now significantly easier.
EU citizens wishing to visit the country no longer need proof of vaccination or testing.
The mask mandate is largely lifted. Mouth and nose only need to be covered in healthcare facilities and nursing homes.
The curfew for restaurants and nightclubs, which was set until 09.04.2022 at 24:00, has now been lifted.
Additionally, the restrictions on the number of participants for events of all kinds that were in effect until 09.04.2022 have been removed.
“From Saturday 09.04.2022 at 00:00, you can party until dawn,” said Croatia's Interior Minister Bozinovic.
As of now (April 2022), we can all celebrate a carefree and wild party season at Zrce Beach. We look forward to seeing you at the beach :)
Update July 2021 :
Since 01.07., Zrce Beach, in collaboration with the clubs and the Croatian government, has launched the new “Covid Pass Protocol.” This is necessary to create a safe and “covid-free” environment without restrictions. You can party in the clubs at Zrce Beach without social distancing, with higher capacity, and longer opening hours.
Below is everything you need to know, compiled by the Papaya Club Zrce:
Please also read our update from June 2021 further down. There are more important details, for example regarding entry.

Update June 2021 :
After some of our customers have been able to enjoy the first weeks of June at Zrce Beach to the fullest, we are back with even better news from Croatia.
The Croatian government has decided that from July 1, all regulations regarding the number of people at large events will be lifted. Only the EU-wide Green Pass will serve as an entry criterion.
Thus, the three G's apply: Either you are Genese, Gvaccinated, or Gtested.
Traveling to Croatia will also be significantly simplified. No quarantine is required after your trip anymore. The reason for this is the rapidly increasing vaccination rate in Croatia and the sharply declining incidence rates.
Upon entering Croatia, the contact details of travelers will be registered for the duration of their stay. To avoid long waiting times at border crossings, the Croatian Ministry of the Interior recommends pre-registering contact and stay data online. This can also be done in German. The link is here: https://entercroatia.mup.hr/
The clubs at Zrce Beach have already been open since early June. So far only during the day, from morning until midnight. Since the clubs at Zrce Beach are exclusively open-air clubs, the restrictions regarding the number of people are significantly more relaxed than for indoor clubs. We expect that from July both the opening hours and the restrictions on the number of people will be further relaxed.
We will definitely keep you updated on our social media channels.
All festivals planned for July are set to take place. This includes the big festivals like Austria goes Zrce or the Hideout Festival. Ticket sales and line-ups already promise a full Zrce Beach and plenty of parties.
For more information, feel free to call or write to us.
We are really looking forward to summer 2021 with you.
Update 17.02.2021 :
Will there be a Zrce summer season 2021?
We, the festivals and the clubs are working on concepts to enable us all to have a summer season 2021.
Whether all festivals can take place as planned is something no one can say yet.
However, we are confident that there will be at least a season like 2020. Perhaps without large festivals but certainly with parties at Zrce Beach.
Can I book accommodation without risk now?
YES, no deposit is required in advance with us. You pay only 7 weeks before departure and can cancel free of charge.
If there is an official travel restriction for Croatia after the free cancellation period has expired, you can postpone your trip free of charge to the next year.
Update 09.09.2020 :
The season at Zrce Beach is practically over for the year 2020. We all hope for a 2021 with fewer worries and restrictions in all areas of life.
Unfortunately, we cannot predict how the course of the COVID-19 virus will develop by next summer.
One thing we can promise you is that we will do our best to provide you with a perfect vacation in 2021, regardless of the circumstances!
Already in summer 2020, it was possible to celebrate at Zrce Beach. Contrary to some, partly simply incorrect media reports, partying under the new Corona rules worked surprisingly well.
In summer 2021, hopefully, everything will return to normal at Zrce Beach. All clubs, including all major festivals, and we are very optimistic and looking forward to 2021.
Nevertheless, we want to be prepared.
So, if there is another lockdown or travel restrictions for the island of Pag, we offer you the option to cancel or postpone your trip free of charge with early booking.
Let us all follow the Corona rules so that we can all go full throttle together at Zrce Beach in summer 2021.
PS. From September, various new accommodations will be added to our website. Look forward to it and feel free to send us your inquiries for 2021.
Update 03.07.2020 :
Answers to all important questions regarding Corona:
Is entry possible?
Yes, entry by car from Germany or Austria is currently (as of 03.07.2020) possible without problems. At the border to Slovenia and Croatia, you should expect traffic jams at the border crossings, as always during the summer holidays. However, you do not have to undergo Corona tests or temperature checks at the borders.
To facilitate and expedite entry, the Croatian government requests the completion of this form: https://entercroatia.mup.hr/
Can I also travel by plane?
Yes, you can fly to the nearest airport Zadar. Some Zrce.de-team members have already done this this summer. There is a mask requirement at the airport and on the plane. This is a bit annoying but bearable. At Zadar Airport in Croatia or already on the plane, you will still need to fill out a short form with your contact details.
This is precautionary in case there is a Corona outbreak in your vacation area so you can be informed. Otherwise, your flight will proceed as usual.
Is Zrce Beach open?
Yes. Zrce Beach has been open 24/7 since early June and is freely accessible to everyone.
Are festivals taking place?
All major festivals designed for more than 1,000 visitors have been postponed to next year due to Corona regulations. Smaller festivals, such as the AWAKE Festival from 20.08. to 23.08.2020, will take place while adhering to all Corona regulations and hygiene concepts.
Which clubs are open?
The Cocomo in Novalja and the Noa Beach Club have been open since mid-June. The Burra Beach Bar and Kalypso have been open since the middle of the penultimate June week. All other clubs, such as Papaya, will follow in early July. During the high season from mid-July and in August, all clubs are expected to be open.
How crowded are the clubs?
One thing in advance, the clubs will not be as full as you might be used to. Due to the current situation, this is also a good thing. The clubs are allowed to let in a maximum of 1,000 people due to Corona regulations.
Do I have to wear a mask in the club?
No. We are lucky that all clubs at Zrce Beach are open-air clubs.
Where do I have to wear a mask?
In public transport and when shopping, we recommend using a mouth and nose mask. However, there is no obligation in this part of Croatia.
Are bars and restaurants open?
Yes. Bars and restaurants are open and surprise you with some cool promotions. You do not have to wear a mask (as of 03.07.2020)
Is it worth traveling this year?
If you want to escape the Corona stress and are looking for a few days/weeks of relaxation, sea, and also party. Then definitely yes. The clubs are not as full as usual and the huge festivals with world-famous line-ups are not taking place this year. However, everyone who is at Zrce Beach wants to have a good time and, after the stress of the past weeks and months, have a nice summer.
Do I have to quarantine after my trip?
No. Croatia is considered a safe travel country and you do not have to quarantine. Please still discuss any travel with your employer during this time.
Are there still accommodations available?
Yes, we still have various accommodations of all categories available. Due to the current situation, we can even offer you some special discounts. Feel free to contact us.
Update 17.04.2020 :
The following festivals have been officially canceled so far:
Zrce Spring Break Europe
Hideout Festival
Austria goes Zrce
The official travel warning is currently valid until the end of April. It won't be long until the first events in May. There are no official statements yet, but we are unfortunately expecting cancellations.
We assess the situation in June as critical, but better than in May. The largest festival in June, the British Hideout Festival, has already been canceled after consulting with the British government. Nevertheless, we still hope to welcome you at Zrce Beach in June.
How will you be informed if your trip booked with us is canceled?
You will be notified by us via email as soon as we know that your trip cannot take place as planned.
What happens to your payment or deposit?
Your payments and deposits are used to pay our partners for houses, hotel rooms, flights, transfers, or other services. This is standard practice and is handled this way by all tourism companies. In the current case of a worldwide virus outbreak, neither we nor our partners were prepared. Unfortunately, our insurances do not cover this new extreme case of a global pandemic.
In the event of a cancellation of your trip, we will not be able to refund your money on our own, as it has already been distributed to our partners for the respective services. We depend on the support of our partners, who will be even worse affected in extreme cases and whose existence is threatened.
We are working on a solution to achieve a satisfactory outcome for all our guests.
Currently, there are discussions that travelers will receive a state-secured “voucher” instead of a refund of their money. State support is probably the only solution for at least part of the travel industry to “survive.” No matter how large and successful a travel company is, none can withstand a 100% drop in revenue indefinitely. Other solutions are also being discussed, where the state steps in for canceled trips and refunds customers' money.
Unfortunately, we currently have no choice but to wait and see how the situation develops.
If the entire season at Zrce Beach should be canceled and no
