FAQ

Planning a trip to Zrće Beach? Here you'll find clear, up-to-date answers about booking, payment, arrival, accommodation, tickets and everything around your stay. Open an entry to read a well-structured overview with formatting, lists and links—then continue to the detail page for the full information.

Is Zrce Beach dangerous?

No, Zrce Beach is considered a very safe travel destination. Croatia is one of the safest countries in Europe, and the clubs at Zrce Beach invest a lot in the safety of their guests. Professional security personnel are stationed at every entrance, and the police regularly patrol the entire area.

Additionally, surveillance cameras are installed in many places. The club operators work closely with local authorities to ensure a smooth operation.

So you can enjoy your stay worry-free, here are some tips:

  • Keep valuables in the hotel safe – only take what you need
  • Drink enough water, especially in heat and during long party nights
  • Stay in a group and share your location with friends
  • Use official taxis or shuttle buses for the return trip
  • Be mindful of your drinks and do not leave them unattended
Learn more

At what age can you enter the clubs at Zrce Beach?

The minimum age for entry into the clubs at Zrce Beach is 18 years. A valid photo ID is generally required at the door – so be sure to bring your ID card or passport.

At some selected events and festivals, entry may be possible from the age of 16 when accompanied by a legal guardian. However, this is the exception and is always communicated in advance by the organizer. When in doubt: No ID, no entry.

Tip: Make a copy of your ID and keep it separate from the original. If you lose your ID, at least you have a backup copy with you.

Is cash needed at Zrce Beach?

Since Croatia introduced the Euro in January 2023, paying at Zrce Beach has become particularly easy. You no longer need to exchange money – the Euro is the official currency.

Card payments are accepted in most clubs, bars, and restaurants at Zrce Beach. Visa and Mastercard work practically everywhere. Contactless payments via smartphone (Apple Pay, Google Pay) are also widespread.

Nevertheless, we recommend always having some cash on hand – for example, for:

  • Small purchases at beach stands or kiosks
  • Tips for particularly good service
  • Taxi rides (not all drivers have a card terminal)

You can find ATMs in Novalja at several locations, including in the old town and at the harbor. There is no ATM directly on the beach.

Learn more

Zrce Beach is located only about 2.5 kilometers southeast of Novalja – the nearest town on the island of Pag. The distance is therefore quite manageable.

Here’s how to get there best:

  • Shuttle Bus: During major festivals (e.g., Hideout, Fresh Island), shuttle buses regularly operate between Novalja and Zrce Beach.
  • On Foot: During the day, the walk is quite doable (about 30 minutes). At night, however, we recommend a taxi, as the path is not continuously lit.

Additionally, there are many other activities during the day:

  • Water sports: Jet skiing, banana boat, parasailing, and stand-up paddling

What is the Bora and does it affect your vacation?

The Bora is a strong, cold north wind that blows from the mountains to the coast and can occasionally hit the island of Pag.

What does this mean for your vacation?

  • The Bora usually occurs in short episodes of 1–2 days
  • The sea can become somewhat rougher

No reason to worry – the Bora is part of the Mediterranean climate and is rarely a problem during the vacation season.

Learn more

Yes, definitely recommended! The following insurances are sensible:

  • Trip cancellation insurance: Protects you in case you have to cancel the trip at short notice
  • Foreign health insurance: Covers costs that exceed the EHIC benefits (e.g., repatriation)

EU citizens do have basic coverage with the EHIC card, but a private foreign health insurance covers significantly more – for example, medical repatriation, dental treatments, or elective services in hospitals.
