Currency Exchange Zrce
Since 2023, the Euro has been the official currency in Croatia. This means that travelers from Germany, Austria, or other Euro countries no longer need to exchange for a foreign currency.
You can withdraw cash at any time from the numerous ATMs in Novalja and at Zrce Beach. Depending on the bank, a small fee of about €3 to €7 may apply. Be sure to check if your bank charges additional foreign transaction fees.
Payment with EC or credit card is easily possible in all clubs, bars, and restaurants. The only exception is American Express, which is generally not accepted.
Our tip: For smaller purchases or snacks, it's handy to have some cash on hand, while you can comfortably pay for larger expenses with a card.
