GUIDE

Euro in Croatia

Helpful background, tips and explanations in detail.

Since January 1, 2023, the Euro is the official currency of Croatia. The previous national currency, Kuna, has been replaced, so as a visitor from the Eurozone, you no longer need to exchange money. At Zrce Beach, in Novalja, and throughout the island of Pag, you can easily pay in Euros – just like at home.

Credit cards and EC cards are accepted almost everywhere in Croatia: in clubs, restaurants, supermarkets, and at many beach bars. Nevertheless, it is advisable to always have some cash on hand – smaller shops, taxi drivers, or market stalls sometimes prefer cash payment. You can find ATMs in Novalja at several locations in the center.

The introduction of the Euro has made traveling to Croatia significantly easier for all visitors from the Eurozone. No conversions, no exchange fees – just arrive and get started.
