Pag
Tips, highlights and helpful context for your planning.
Besides the party beach Zrce in the town of Novalja, the island of Pag has much more to offer. If you arrive by plane and land at Zadar or Split airport, you can reach Pag via the southern side of the island over a 300-meter-long bridge. If you are traveling by car, you can also reach the island of Pag from the north by ferry (Priza-Zigljen).
Of course, the biggest tourist attraction on the island of Pag is Zrce Beach. But extreme sports enthusiasts, water lovers, nature lovers, and gourmets will also find plenty to enjoy on the island of Pag. The hilly landscape presents a huge challenge for every mountain biker and athlete. The terrain on the island of Pag is very demanding and ideal for endurance training sessions. The island of Pag is known far beyond the borders of Croatia not only because of Zrce Beach. The famous goat cheese, produced on the island, is a main source of income for the local population alongside tourism.
Besides Zrce Beach, you will find other beautiful bays on the island of Pag, where the water is so clean and clear that you can't help but be amazed. So if you are looking for Caribbean-like water at a low cost, the island of Pag is the perfect place for you. Water sports enthusiasts from all over the world come to Croatia to explore the breathtaking underwater landscape while diving or snorkeling.
If you are staying longer at Zrce Beach, a trip by car, quad, or scooter is just the right thing to relax from the wild party life at Zrce Beach and gather new energy for the next party nights. A tour to the village of Lun, about 20 km from Novalja, is definitely worth it. In just 20 minutes, you can go from the hustle and bustle of Novalja to a small, quiet fishing village in the north of the island. On the way, you can admire olive trees that are over 1,500 years old and buy the famous goat cheese. Once in Lun, several delicious and significantly cheaper restaurants and cafes invite you to relax.
The beautiful harbor town of Pag is named the same as the island itself and is about a 30-minute drive from Novalja. Here you can stroll through the small but beautiful old town and enjoy fresh fish and meat dishes in one of the restaurants by the harbor.
